Obituary Online notes for Ira Richard STILL Jr.
Ira Richard Still, Jr., 78, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at Ashton Place in McLeansville.
A 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will be at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the service.
Richard was born March 17, 1936 in Rockingham County to the late Ira R. and Virginia Still. He worked in landscaping upon retirement from Container Corporation. Always the outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and playing golf. He was an avid Duke fan and followed NASCAR racing. Most importantly, he was always willing to help his neighbors.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty Still. Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa Essex (Re), as well as sons, Rick Still (Cheryl), Scott Still (Dawn), Ronnie Stewart (Wanda) and Doug Stewart (Jill). Additionally, he is survived by sisters Margaret Gladson, Anne Ross (Tommy) and Debbie Coghill (Tony), as well as brothers Clyde Still (Sony), Larry Still (Sandy) and Jerry Still (Sandy). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
