Obituary Online notes for Frieda Marie SUMMERS
Frieda Marie Summers, daughter of William R. and Karen [née Kruse] Summers, was born on the 4th day of August 1903 in Union, Missouri. Her mother was orginially from Denmark.

Marie was married to Dr. Edward Gilmore Boyce, who was a Associate Reformed Presbyterian minister and a Chaplain of Erskine College.

They had two children: William and Karen.

The Marie Summers Boyce Scholarship at Erskine College was established by her children, Karen (Mrs. Daniel P. Logan, Jr.) of Gilliam, La. and William E. Boyce, Troy, N.Y., in memory of their mother, who served with distinction as the librarian of Erskine College from 1965-70. The scholarship is given to juniors and seniors at Erskine College who are of good moral character, show promise of future usefulness to society, and show a high degree of understanding and appreciation for the services of a competent library. 470, Frieda Marie Summers Boyce
