Lawrence Truitt Whitaker
Lawrence Truitt Whitaker, 74, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Durham Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Janie Brown Whitaker, who survives, and the son of Mr. Condy W. Whitaker and Mrs. Gladys Truitt Whitaker, both deceased. He was a self-employed floor finisher and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Earl W. Whitaker.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Shallow Ford United Church of Christ by the Rev. Leslie Jolley, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 470, Lawrence Truitt Whitaker
