Olice Alexander Lockamy

EL PASO, TX - Olice Alexander Lockamy, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in El Paso, Texas.

A funeral service will be conducted at Hanes Linebery Sedgefield Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018. A short graveside service will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetary. The Rev. Patrick Snow of Irving Park United Methodist Church will officiate.

Olice was born at home on 21 May 1925 in Snow Camp, North Carolina.

Her Parents, Alson E. Alexander and Cleo Clapp Alexander, named the new baby girl Olice Marie Alexander. She was and remained a member of Irving Park United Methodist Church even after Moving to El Paso in 2007. Olice graduated from Sylvan High School of Alamance County in May of 1942 and later attended King's Business School of Accounting in Greensboro, NC. She subsequently worked at a number of accounting jobs including Jewel Box and Rolane Sales (from which she retired). After Her husband, Ernest, was honorably discharged from the U. S. Marine Corp in 1946, Olice and Ernest having attended school together from Elementary through High School reconnected and were married in Alamance County on May 31, 1947. They moved to Greensboro shortly thereafter where they lived happily married until Ernest died on Dec. 8, 2005. Olice moved to El Paso, Texas in July 2007.

Olice was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, AD Alexander; her sisters, Allie Mae Hester and Martha Dare Cooke; her husband, Ernest Cameron Lockamy; and her oldest son, Ernest Doyle Lockamy.

Surviving Olice are her son Michael Cameron Lockamy of El Paso, Texas; Four grandchildren with three spouses, Jamison (Jami) and Amber Lockamy of El Paso, Texas, Sheanon and Robyn Lockamy of Randleman, NC, Dixie (Misha) Lockamy of Albuquerque, NM, and David and Alicia Lockamy of Asheboro, NC; two step grandchildren, Sheila White of Houston Texas and Kevin Boetto of El Paso, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Olice always tried to remember all of her grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-granddchildren and step great-grandchildren with cards and gifts for birthdays and Christmas.
