Virginia Naomi Simpson Brown
GIBSONVILLE — Virginia Naomi Simpson Brown, 81, of 7927 Troxler Mill Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at her home.
A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of John and Mamie Gwynn Simpson and the wife of the late George Van Brown.
Virginia was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and the Helping Hands Sunday school class. She enjoyed spending time with and taking trips with the seniors at the church and she enjoyed quilting. She was a great homemaker and farmer and the best mother and grandmother you could ever have.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Chrismon and her husband, Melvin, Charlotte Siler and her husband, Tony; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Brown and Yvonda, and Rickey Brown and Lori Moore; eight grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Frances Elizabeth Simpson; and a brother, Edward Simpson.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. C. Allen Myers and the Rev. Tim Geiger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apple’s Chapel Congregational Nursing Program or Tape Ministry, 7345 N.C. 61 North, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
The family would like to convey a special thank you to the Rev. Allen Myers, Sheri Jones, Hospice of Greensboro, and family and friends for the many acts of kindness shown to them.
