 GIBSONVILLE — Rickey Allen Brown, 50, of 7944 Troxler Mill Road, passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
 
 A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late George Van and Virginia Simpson Brown. Rickey was a prominent farmer, a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and active in competitive go-cart racing.
 
 Survivors include, Lori Moore and her sons, Jacob and Eli, all of the home; sisters, Carol Chrismon and husband Melvin and Charlotte Siler and husband Tony all of Gibsonville; brother, Johnny Van Brown and wife Yvonda of Browns Summit; five nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews.
 
 Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday February 26, 2009 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. C. Allen Myers III. Interment will follow in Apple’s Chapel cemetery.
 
 Mr. Brown will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
 
 The family would like to thank Rickey’s friends and relatives for standing behind him during the last few years.
