The service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Don Pegg and the burial will follow at Kimesville Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Ruth Ellen Gerringer Caldwell, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at ARMC. She was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of the late James "Jim" Gerringer and Maude Marley Gerringer.
Ruth retired from Culp Weaving and was a member of Kimesville Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed growing flowers and working in her vegetable garden. Ruth canned vegetables from her garden for her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Lopez and husband, Reyes of Burlington and Julie Walker also of Burlington; son, James Phillips of Burlington; grandchildren, Christy Gomes, Anamaria Lopez and Jessica Smith; great grandchildren, Chandler Lopez, Kayla Rone, Micah Rone, Joshua Rone, MacKenzie Smith and Jacob Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Richard Dalton Phillips and Ricky Dean Scott; sister, Allean Gerringer and a brother, Lewis Gerringer.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Don Pegg and the burial will follow at Kimesville Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
