James Larry Cheek
 
James Larry Cheek, 84, of Caswell County, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

Larry was born in Caswell County to the late William Cheek and Annie Rice Cheek.

He graduated from Anderson Highschool in Caswell County and served his country in the United States Army. He left active-duty military service after 2 years and joined the national guard while attending Alamance Community College. He received a technical degree in Auto Mechanics and worked for Miller Brewing Company for over 20 years. He was most proud of his work as the business owner of Cheek and Son Garage Inc. and the family farm. Larry enjoyed racing cars and was a driver for a number of years. He was a dedicated fisherman and was known as an excellent tractor mechanic. He loved Christmas and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Most of all he loved his family.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on December 2nd,2022 at Camp Springs Church with Pastor Daryl Massey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Pm on Thursday December 1st, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the family home.

Larry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Faye Cheek; children, Mark Cheek and wife, Jennie, Debbie Pearson and husband, Craig and Denise Johnson and husband, Wally; grandchildren, Chris Pearson and wife, Morgan, Nick Pearson and wife, Brittany, Lindsey Talbert and husband Colton, Laura Johnson and Michael; step grandchild, Christina Smith; Great grandchildren, Laikyn Pearson, Georgia Leigh Wade, Vivian James Talbert, Walter Burton Wade , and Baby Pearson on the way; Step Great grandchildren,  Issac Newcomb, Abby Newcomb, Mckennize Pugh, Blake Sexton; brother, Willie Cheek; sister, Faye C Gammon; loving dog, Callie as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County and their wonderful caretaker, Brenda.
