Virginia Truitt Satterfield
ELON - Virginia Truitt Satterfield, 77, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1940 in Alamance County to the late Walter Jack and Ollie Lee Edmonds Truitt.
Virginia was a great cook, she was most well known for her famous fruit cakes. She also loved to collect baby dolls and porcelain ducks. Virginia enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by brothers; Curtis Truitt, Clyde Truitt, Buck Truitt, Doug Truitt (Wanda), Tommy Truitt (Gloria), sister; Martha Sue Ragan (Yogi) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son; Anthony Satterfield, brother; Bobby Truitt (Doris), sisters; Betty Truitt Cox (Curtis), Sarah Garrison (Tommy) and sister-in-law; Judy Truitt.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:45 prior to the service and at other times at the home. The burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park following the service.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cancer Center as well as those on the Oncology floor at ARMC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
