Mary was the youngest of seven children born to Jacob David and Lena (Hudgins) Foust. She married Lloyd Vance Ward Sr. and they were the parents of six children: Gloria Jean, Lloyd Vance Jr., (Son), Beverly Kay, Evelyn Faye, (Son).

BURLINGTON, July 12 - Mrs. Mary Foust Ward, 33, of Route 5, Burlington, died this morning at a Chapel Hill hospital after seven days of critical illness. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Loyd Vance Ward, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Jacob D. and Mrs. Lena Hudgins Ward of Route 5, Burlington. She was a member of City Lake Baptist Church. Other survivors include one son, Loyd Vance Ward Jr., of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Ward of Route 3, Burlington, Miss Beverly Kay Ward and Miss Evelyn Faye, both of the home; one sister, Miss Addie Foust of Burlington; four brothers, Henry, Jessie and Paul Foust, all of Route 5, Burlington, and Roosevelt Foust of Route 3, Burlington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at City Lake Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Baxter. Burial will be in McCray's cemetery.
