BURLINGTON - Jerry “Jake” Way, 73, passed away at his home, Friday, February 22, 2019. Born August 22, 1945, he was the son of the late, Earl and Gertrude Way.
Jake was self-employed in residential construction until retirement, and then enjoyed delivering flowers for a local florist. He loved fishing at the coast for many years until God blessed him with five wonderful grandsons. His time then was spent attending their baseball games and making many fun filled memories. His love for God, family, and friends showed in the life he lived.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Joe Way. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Kay Way; daughters, Sherri Pass (Johnny) and Tammy Baldwin; grandsons, Dallas and Jake Baldwin, Jeremiah, Jordan, and Jackson Pass; his most cherished and much loved Morkies, Jaci and Marybella; sister, Sue Hamilton (Bill); brother, Donnie Way (Georgia); sister in law, Pat Way Barber (Curtis); special nieces, Pam Church (James), Christal Payne (Jason) and their children; niece, Megan Lemonds (Matt); nephew, Steven Way (Lacey); extended family and friends; as well as his breakfast buddies at Danny’s Café.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Burlington Assembly of God Family Life Center located at 821 Tucker Street, Burlington, NC 27215. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to the service.
A special thank you to all of our family and friends, the Burlington Assembly of God Church for their love and support as well as the First Responders. Services entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service.
