BURLINGTON — Gertrude Bryant Way, 94, formerly of Chapel Hill Road, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Alamance Health Care.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of Ernest Earl Way and the daughter of Ida Brown and Joe Bryant, all deceased.
She was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church and a former choir member.
Survivors include her children, Jake Way and wife Kay, Donnie Way and wife Georgia, all of Burlington, and Sue W. Hamilton and husband Bill of Troy; grandchildren, Megan Lemonds, Steven Way, Sherri Pass, Tammy Baldwin, Pam Church and Crystal Way-Payne; great-grandchildren, Dallas Baldwin, Jake Baldwin, Kaleigh Church, Jeremiah Pass, Jordan Pass, Jackson Pass, Taryn Payne and Tyler Payne.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son, Ernest Joe Way.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Way will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the cemetery for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 12:40 until 1:45 p.m. Thursday. At other times they will be at the home of Jake and Kay Way, 813 Tucker Street, Burlington.
