MRS. ANNIE ELIZABETH BROWN---Yanceyville--Feb. 13--The death of Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Brown removed one of Caswell county's oldest and best loved residents. She died at her home "Rose hill", Sunday afternoon of last week, and the funeral was held the following Tuesday.
Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Rice Gwyn and Elizabeth Boyd Gwyn, and was the widow of Livingston Brown, son of Bedford Brown and and Mary Lumpkin Glenn. She spent her married life and widowhood at the historic old homestead "Rose Hill".
Attesting to her wide popularity was the profuse floral offering at the funeral service. The service was conducted by the Rev. George W. Oldham of Hot Springs, Va., who formerly was pastor of Bethesda church, assisted by Rev. Marion Huske of Reidsville, and Rev. J.L. Poole of Yanceyville. Interment was in the family cemetery at Rose Hill.
The active pallbearers were Dr.S.A. Malloy, Allen H.Gwyn, Thomas Neal, Mayo Moseley, Jeff Penn, Dr.J.W. McGehee, Onza Gwyn, Charlton Strange, Pemberton Penn, George Rice, Dr. H.S. Gwyn, and Dr.Sydney Matthews.
