Elma Mae (Bishop) Doby
May 6, 1933 ~ March 11, 2025 (age 91)

Elma Mae Bishop Doby, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie Arthur Bishop and Alvia Elizabeth Moser Bishop.

A native of Alamance County Elma enjoyed working for Biscuitville as a cashier. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She enjoyed going to the Kernodle Senior center. She was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Dianne May and son in law Mike May Sr., son Richard Charles Doby, grandchildren, Lynn Doby, Charlie Doby, Belinda Hood; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Cody Jacob Wood and Granddaughter Katie Doby and her former husband Richard Eugene Doby.

The funeral service will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 4:30pm at Rich and Thompson funeral home chapel in Burlington. Burial is private immediate family only at 2:00pm at Rock Creek united Methodist Church cemetery.

The family would like to thank Tony Payne and Erik and Sherri Hendrix and family for helping to care for Elma and special thanks to  Pastor Jerry Flood and Pam Davis and AuthoraCare Hospice.
