Mr. Carl James Doby, 45, of 508 W. Elm Street, Graham, died at his residence after several years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, Mr. Doby was the son of the late Richard Eugene Doby and Elma Mae Bishop Doby, who survives.
Mr. Doby was a cook at the Maple Avenue Waffle House for over 20 years and was an active member of the John Kernodle Senior Citizens Group. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Elma Mae of Burlington, he is survived by his sister, Dianne D. May and her husband, Mike, of Burlington; his brother, Richard Charles Doby of Burlington; his sister-in-law, Connie Doby of Burlington; two nieces; three nephews; and his beloved dachshund, Miss Molly.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Drew Doby.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Vickers Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service, and at other times, the family will be at the residence of the sister, Diane, 2816 Charlie Lane, Burlington.
