Alice Towe Gerringer, 80, of 1738 Rock Creek Dairy Road in Whitsett, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Jeff Dodson, and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
A native of Surry County, she was born to Roy W. and Effie Key Towe, both deceased, and was the wife of the late Thomas Washington Gerringer.
Alice was a homemaker, and a member of Richland Gospel Church.
Survivors include her sons, John Davis Gerringer, and wife, Carol, of Whitsett, Robert Lee Gerringer, and wife, Janie, of Julian, James Carson Gerringer of Graham, Don Eugene Gerringer, and wife, Hattie, of Whitsett, Floyd Leonard Gerringer, and wife, Lisa, of Whitsett, and Philip Raymond Gerringer of Whitsett; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Cletus Doby; and one sister-in-law, Hellen Towe.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Thomas Wayne Gerringer; daughter-in-law, Susie Gerringer; brothers, Ray Towe, and Ralph Towe; sister, Evelyn Doby; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Towe.
