Obituary Online notes for Doris GREESON
Doris Greeson Reece, 83, went home to be with her Lord a Savior on Saturday, December 28, 2019.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Mount Hope United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the funeral in the church sanctuary from 1:00 until 3:00 pm.

Born in Guilford County on September 22, 1936 to the late James David Greeson, Sr. and Charlie Mabel Greeson, Doris was a life-long member of Mount Hope United Church of Christ. She graduated from Nathaniel Greene School, loved visiting and caring for others, enjoyed cooking for her family and anyone that might stop by every Monday and Wednesday night. Doris liked yard sale shopping, her Tab drinks, and if she wasn’t cooking an egg sandwich for one of her grandchildren, she was out delivering eggs so that she would have enough room for the next day’s bounty of eggs. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friends who was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her. Doris’s greatest pleasure was supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all and every aspects of their lives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eddie Minor and two grandchildren, Amber and Anthony Nance.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, Harold “Diz” Dean Reece, Sr.; five children, Pam Minor, Sharon Nance (Donnie), Cynthia McGee (Dennis), Harold Reece, Jr. and Timmy Reece; sisters, Johnnie Brown, Carole Sawyer (Goldie), and Jeanette Kirkman; brother, Jimmy Greeson (Pam); 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with new additional ones arriving within the next two weeks; and other extended family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Universal Health Care of Ramseur for the excellent care given to their loved one.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hope United Church of Christ at 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.

Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home served the Reece family.
