Florence Brannon Tate

December 21, 1948 ~ October 23, 2023 (age 74)

Florence Brannon Tate, 74, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 23, 2023 surrounded by her family.

A native of Chesnee, SC, she was the wife of Chester “Buddy” Tate, who survives, and the daughter of Herbert Broadus Brannon and Wilma Swafford Brannon, both deceased.

She was a retired schoolteacher having taught in North Carolina and South Carolina. Flo loved reading, taking care of her rescue dogs, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Kevin Cantrell and wife Deanna of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Kayden Cantrell and Sydney Cantrell; sister, Jane Hilton and husband Rod of Hendersonville, NC; and two Boston Terriers, Dolly and Marlee.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. by Rev. Mark Williams with the family receiving friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.
The committal service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
