BURLINGTON - Anne Marshall Pope, 76, of Brookdale Assisted Living in Burlington passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Walter Eugene Pope and the daughter of James D. Marshall and Pearl Clapp Marshall McLelland, both deceased. She was a retired employee from General Electric and a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a step son, Kevin Eugene Pope and wife Amy of Burlington; step grandson, Tyler Pope; sister, Dale Marshall Hooper and husband Clem of Burlington; niece, Tonya Harrison of Mebane; two great nieces, Alex Pilkington and Meredith Parker and husband Russell; two great nephews, Zack Johnson and wife Kayla and Andrew Johnson; one great great niece, Zoey Pilkington; three great great nephews, Bryson and Mason Parker and Cash Johnson; four step siblings, Lewis “Lukie” Clemmer, Jr. and wife Joyce, Louise Sharpe and husband Gary, Lawrence Clemmer and wife Ann, and Linda Sharpe and husband Cookie; and her first husband and dear friend of the family, Jimmy Staley.
The family will have a private service at a later date. Mrs. Pope will be available for viewing at the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 11:30 until 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Breast Cancer at Conquer Cancer, 896076, Charlotte, NC 28289 or to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
