Eunice Saunders Kernodle
Eunice Saunders Kernodle, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Ashton Place. She was born in Caswell County on September 22, 1923 to the late George Lee and Minnie Gwynn Saunders and was the wife of 60 years to the late Roy Staley Kernodle.
Eunice was a longtime member of Bethlehem Christian Church where she served on the flower committee for over 50 years and was a Sunday School teacher and VBS craft volunteer. She was also a member of the A.O. Extension Homemakers Club. Eunice enjoyed gardening, sewing and basket making (reed and pine needle).
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Emogene Kernodle of Elon; son, Eric Watson Kernodle of Elon; sisters-in-law, Laura Jane K. McPherson of Elon and Nancy K. Sain of Burlington; brother-in-law, Wayne Kernodle of Elon; many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Delois Summers.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Lena Page and Violet Paschal and a brother, Scott Saunders.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Todd Felkel with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
