Nancy Miles Saunders
BURLINGTON — Nancy Miles Saunders, 78, of 138 Boone Road, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at her residence.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and neighbor. She enjoyed flowers and she always had a vegetable garden. She considered herself a seamstress, sewing for her family and friends, and neighborhood.
Survivors include a daughter, Jewel S. Williams and husband, Robert, of Burlington; a son, C. Miles Saunders, of Elon; grandchildren, Monica Johnson and husband, Ryan, of Burlington, and Grant Saunders and fiancée, Ashley Maiolo, of Raleigh; and loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Scott Saunders; parents, Lucien Miles and Bertha Stanfield Miles; sisters, Thelma Hooper, Grace Patillo, Jack Flynt, Bill Mason, and Teency Grubbs; and brothers, Jim Miles and Woody Miles.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the residence of the daughter at 1515 Hawthorne Lane, Burlington.
