Marion Elmond Gwynn

May 24, 1943 ~ February 3, 2022 (age 78)

  Marion Elmond Gwynn, 78, of Elon, went to be with the Lord Thursday February 3, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 6, 2022 at Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Gilliam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will see friends Saturday February 5, 2022 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.

A native of Caswell County, he was a son of the late Jesse J. and Myrtle Brintle Gwynn and had lived in Caswell County his entire life. He was a retired employee of Lorillard Tobacco Co. and was a farmer. A member of Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in his yard, and watching westerns and The Price is Right on television.

Marion was preceded in death by three brothers: Junior Gwynn, Arnold Gwynn and Donald Gwynn,  and two sisters: Frances Simmons and Naomi Simmons.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years: Marian Earles “Maggie” Gwynn of the home, sons: Timothy Gwynn (Jeanne), Keith Gwynn, and Heith Gwynn all of Elon, Chris Loye (Kim) of Reidsville, and James Gwynn of Yanceyville, daughter: Starlett May (Butch) of Elon, sister: Vera Madden (Albert) of Graham, grandchildren: Crystal Walker (Brian), Bubba May (Annie), Jeffrey Coleman, Hunter Gwynn, Caleb Gwynn, Helen Gwynn, Alex Gwynn, Jacob Loye (Amanda), Jordan Moore (Brent),  eight great grandchildren, his faithful canine companion John Henry and a number of nieces and nephews.
