ALTAMAHAW – Doris Jean Taylor Wagner, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 8, 1935 in Alamance County to the late Vernon Eugene Taylor and Rose Mae Martin Taylor and was married to the late Cecil Otis Wagner who died in 1990.
Doris retired after 35 years with Monarch Hosiery and was a member of Crossway Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Proffitt and husband, Charlie; granddaughter, Bettyann Proffitt; great grandson, Mikey Jones and a sister, Marie Strange and husband, Johnny and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, William “Bill” Wade Taylor.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Crossway Church by Rev. Garry Yeatts with the burial to follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at her sister, Marie Strange’s residence.
