Margaret Flynn Shepherd


GIBSONVILLE, NC. - Margaret Flynn Shepherd, 88, of Gibsonville passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2019 at Heartland Living and Rehabilitation.

A native of Gibsonville, she was the daughter of of the late Maggie Riggins and Thomas Lee Flynn and wife of the late Jerry Brent Shepherd who died in 2004.

Mrs. Shepherd graduated from Gibsonville High School and St Leo's School of Nursing. She was employed at Cone Hospital for over 20 years, the Childrens Polio Hospital and later worked in the cafeteria at Gibsonville School.

She was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church and Business of Professional Women.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Shepherd of Gibsonville and Brent Shepherd and wife Judy of Whitsett. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Jerry Brent Shepherd, Jr., parents and siblings, Deleno Flynn, Kodell Flynn Schoolfield, Paul James Flynn and Thomas Lee Flynn, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Gibsonville United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday in Gibsonville City Cemetery by Rev. Barry Lemons.
