Mrs. Eva Mae Miles Walker
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Eva Mae Miles Walker , 80, formerly of 7183 Powerline Road, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at Alamance Health Care. She was a native of Caswell County, and the daughter of the late Lee Abner and Rena Underwood Miles .
Eva retired after many years with Dixie Belle Textiles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville and a member of the Fidelas Sunday school class. She was active also in the Missionary Circle of the church. Eva enjoyed living for over three years at the John Harper Senior Center in Gibsonville. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a cherished friend to many in her community. She was a lady of many talents enjoying quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William Raymond "Billy" Walker and his wife, Diane, of the home; grandchildren, William Mitchell Walker and Mickey Lee Walker both of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel Ammons of Asbury, New Jersey, Elsie and Albert Ammons of Gibsonville, Lois and J. T. Lee of Reidsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert A. Miles Sr. and his wife, Lucille, of Gibsonville, Homer Bernell Miles and his wife, Mary, of Reidsville, Harvey C. Miles and his wife, Martha, of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Walker ; parents; sister, Louise Oliver; and brothers, Felton Miles , Otis Miles and Elbert Miles .
The family of Eva Walker would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Alamance Health Care for their kind and compassionate care over the past several years.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by the Rev. Brian Ayers, and assisted by the Rev. Danny Miles . The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the home of the sister, Elsie Ammons, 7150 Powerline Road, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
