GIBSONVILLE - Edna Stanford Miles, 92, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Brookdale Memory Care surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Earl Arlendo Stanford and the late Willie Ann Jones Stanford. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonville where she sang in the choir, played the piano and taught Sunday school. She was a hairdresser who enjoyed working with seniors in Gibsonville and would even provide transportation if needed for their hair appointments.
She is survived by her son, Donnie Miles (Carolyn); daughters, Cherry Miles Howe (Carver), Susie Miles Allen (Steve); daughter-in-law, Linda Miles; grandchildren, David Miles, Barry Miles, Chris Miles, Mike Miles, Kim Howe, Jessica Dehart, Anita Robinson, Stacie Lowe, Geoff Allen; fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Lee Miles, son, Rev. Danny Miles, grandson, James Trey Howe, parents, siblings, Julia Hyder, Debbie Smithey and Rev. James Stanford who served as a missionary to Peru.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Brian Dehart with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service.
