Burlington – David Lee Miles, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25 2023.
He was a native of Alamance County and the son of to the late Rev. Danny Lee Miles and Linda Garrison Miles and was the husband of 34 years to Suzanne Woody Miles who survives.
David was a member of Friendly Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports especially coaching his sons in Little League and travel ball. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Duke Basketball. David played golf and was a hunter and fisherman spending his spare time working on his cabin in the mountains. He was devoted to his family and especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne W. Miles of the home; sons, Jacob Lee Miles and wife, Hannah of Burlington and Joshua Lynn Miles and fiancée, Cheyenne Haizlip of Burlington; granddaughter, Josephine “Josie” Lorelai Miles; mother, Linda Garrison Miles of Burlington; his sister, Anita M. Robinson and husband, Brian of Graham and his brother, Rev. Barry Daniel Miles and wife, Carol of Grover, NC; canine companions, “Scoot”, “Peanut”, “Snowball” and “Spit Fire”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Danny Lee Miles.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Buck Garrison. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am prior to the service on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Burlington Animal Services, 221 Stone Quarry Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
