Donald Lewis Troxler

ELON - Donald Lewis Troxler, 82, of 1350 Underwood Road in Elon, NC went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022, atMoses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday (February 28, 2022) at Camp Springs UnitedMethodist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery withMilitaryGraveside Rites.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Frank Troxler and the late Rena Walker Troxler Underwood and had lived in Caswell County most of his life. He was a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church, a US ArmyVeteran of theVietnamWar, a former member of the Cherry Grove Farmer’s Club. He was a retiree of Leesona Corp. in Burlington, NC and a retired tobacco farmer. He loved working in the land, planting seeds, watching them grow, and sharing his vegetables with his friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his four grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father; Russell Underwood, a sister; Norma Simmons, a brother; Cleo Underwood, a nephew; Craig Simmons, and brothers-in-law; Jimmy Renshaw and Doug Simmons.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years; Jean Danieley Troxler of the home, daughters; Maria T. O’Ferrell (Brent) of Elon and Donna T. Chandler (Brian) of Yanceyville, brother; Tommy Underwood (Faye) of Elon, sisters; Betty Blanchard (Bill) of Burlington, Mary Simmons (Dennis) of Elon and Shelby Renshaw of High Point, sister-in-law; Shirley Underwood of Gibsonville, grandchildren; Kaitlyn O’Ferrell, Jonathan O’Ferrell, Hannah Chandler, and Emma Chandler.
The family will see friends from 5:00PMtill 7:00 PM Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Citty Funeral Home in Reidsville and at other times at the residence. Memorials may bemade to: Camp Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund 9188 Cherry Grove Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
