Mrs. Rena Walker Underwood, a native of Caswell County, was the wife of Russell Everett Underwood, and the daughter of George Weldon Walker Annie Sartin. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Cherry Grove/Camp Springs Community. She was a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church, where she was a former member of the Women's Society.

She was the mother of Donald Troxler, Tommy Underwood, Norma Simmons, Mary Simmons and Betty Blanchard and stepmother to Shelby Renshaw and Cleo Underwood who preceded her.
