Richard H. VernonMEBANE- Mr. Richard H. Vernon, 90, of Mebane, NC passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home in Burlington on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 9:35 a.m.
A native of Caswell County, for 66 years he was the husband of Shirley S. Vernon, who survives and the son of Edward Rose Vernon and Mamie Scott Vernon, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a retired farmer. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 447 in Prospect Hill. Mr. Vernon was a lifelong member of Hebron United Methodist Church, Hightower Charge where he served on many various committees and held offices in the church.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a daughter, Pam V. Lynch and husband Joey of Mebane; son, R. Keith Vernon and wife Darlene of Mebane; sister, Dorothy V. Smith and husband Dean of Portland, OR; six grandchildren, Keith, Jr., Heather, Matthew, Joel, Jr., Jacob and Jared; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will
be conducted at Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hightower Charge,(Caswell County), 202 Hebron Church Road, Mebane, NC on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Ronnie Byrd.
