Obituary Online notes for William Pinkney WARE
Rev. W. P. Ware was born November 8, 1850. He departed this life July 7, 1928, aged 77 years, 9 months and 29 days.
Brother Ware was converted when eight years of age and united with the Methodist Church. Later he was led into the light of holiness, sought and obtained the blessing. When the Holiness Church was organized at Reidsvifle he became a charter member, and remained a member there until death changed him to the Church Triumphant.
More than forty years ago he entered the ministry, and faithfully fought at the front of the battle for God and the church, until he was our oldest minister. It is said of him that he married and buried more people than any other preacher of his town.
He was a successful merchant, well known and loved by all who knew him. He was one of the happiest old men that we have ever met. His happy, smiling face and shouts of victory will be missed in our conferences and camp meetings. His favorite song was ''Happy on the Way.'' We feel that he is now skipping over the golden streets of a City whose Builder and Maker is God. (1928 Southern Conference Journal of the Pilgrim Holiness Church)
