Obituary Online notes for Lillian SIDES
Lillian Sides Vaughan, 100, of Collinsville, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born in Kannapolis, N.C., October 9, 1914 to George R. Sides and Hettie Trantham Sides. Mrs. Vaughan was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville where she had been in the choir and also taught Sunday School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford E. Vaughan; three sisters, Helen McLaughlin, Margaret White and Nettie Fields; one brother G. R. Sides.
Surviving are two daughters, Freida V. Bousman of Collinsville, Elaine V. Bousman and husband, Walter of Ridgeway, one son, Ronnie G. Vaughan and wife, Carolyn of Arizona; one step-sister, Anadell Brady; eight grandchildren, J.P. Bousman, Jeannette Boyd and husband, Linwood, Betsy Barr and husband, Dennis, Jerry Tawney, Vaughan Bousman, John Vaughan, Tip Bousman and wife, Chassie and Jimmy Bousman; eleven great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville and other times at the home of her daughter, Freida Bousman, 74 Alma Blvd in Collinsville.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with the Rev. Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
Arrangements are by Collins Funeral Home in Bassett.
