Ramona McKinney Stainback

March 12, 1927 ~ September 20, 2021 (age 94)

Ramona McKinney Stainback, 94, of Burlington passed away at her residence on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 10:25 p.m.

A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Cleland Ross Stainback and the daughter of William Prescott McKinney and Sadie Walker McKinney, both deceased.

Ramona was a homemaker. She loved making quilts and was well known for her cakes. She was a member of Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda S. Firth (Bill); daughter-in-law, Cathy Johnson (Chris); six grandchildren, Tim Cozart (Jamie), Jennifer Kenyon (Cliff), Angie Wilson (Steve), Alan Michael Stainback (Laura), Katie Stainback, and Abby Stainback; five great-grandchildren, Presley Cozart, Avery Cozart, Vivian Kenyan, Levi Wilson and Briar Stainback; two step-grandchildren, Karen Simpson (Shawn) and Michael Firth (Christine); two step-great-grandchildren, Jordan Hauser (Matt) and Hunter Simpson; step-great-great grandson, Stetson Shawn Hauser; and two sisters, Carolyn Pattillo of Caswell County and Pat Carter of Reidsville. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ross Michael Stainback and Cleland Eric Stainback; four sisters, Evelyn McKinney, Ailene Talbert, Betty Pittman, and Eleanor Shumate; and two brothers, Walker McKinney and Jimmy McKinney.

The funeral service will be conducted at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Paul Traywick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of her daughter, Rhonda Firth, 438 McCray Road, Burlington, NC.
