Mayme Lee McMillen, daughter of John Elderidge and Janie Elizabeth Adams Davis, was born August 27, 1907 in Wright County, Missouri. She departed her life March 5, 1991 in her home near Grovespring, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 8 days.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Millard McMillen March 11, 1927. She was perceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde, and one grandaughter. Connie.
Mayme is survives by two daughters, Verba Faye Weaver Alexander of Kansas City, Missouri and Dottie Ruth McMillen Mace of Grovespring, Missouri; three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of family and friends.
She lived most of her life in Wright COunty area except one year she lived in Kansas City, Missouri and worked in a defense plant. She had made her home on the family homestead that was founded by her great-grandfather.
Mayme served as a midwife to lots of mothers in the area and helped deliver many babies.
She loved to attend church and had made her peace with the Lord. She was a kind and caring person and liked to help people. She never met a stranger and loved her family dearly.
