Terry Michael "Mike" Smith, Sr.
November 22, 1955 ~ December 21, 2021 (age 66)
Terry Michael “Mike” Smith, Sr., 66, of Haw River passed away at UNC Hospital-Chapel Hill on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Edgar Allen Smith and the late Annie Duel Thomas Smith. Mike was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Mike’s Mobile Home Service and managed Talbert’s Grocery in Saxapahaw.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and horses. He was an irreplaceable staple in his community that never met a stranger or anyone he would not lend a hand. He was a proud father and grandfather whose pride and joy was his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by sons, Terry Michael Smith, Jr. (Erin) and Thomas Mitchell Smith (Margie); grandchildren, Evelyn, Evan, Madilyn, Tessa and Morrison; and brother, Steve Smith (Cathy).
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Doug Smith, sister Judy Bradshaw and stepmother Edna Dixon Smith.
The Smith family will receive friends and family at the home of Mike’s oldest son (Michael) of Graham. The family will hold a visitation for friends and family from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Salem United Methodist Church. The committal will be held immediately following the funeral service in the church cemetery. 261, Terry Michael "Mike" Smith, Sr.
