Mr. Willard Lester Lawrence
ELON COLLEGE — Mr. Willard Lester Lawrence, 88, of 2516 Bridgeview Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after three years of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Beaver Creek, Tenn., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Bertha Emma Gwynn Lawrence, and the son of Mr. Joseph Hardin Lawrence and Mrs. Cynthia Dickerson Lawrence, both deceased.
He was retired from Burlington Industries, Mayfair Plant, and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betsy L. Stover of the home; two sons, Mr. Homer Lawrence of Haw River and Mr. Harold Lawrence of Elon College; a brother, Mr. Luther
Lawrence of Ruffin; seven grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Altamahaw Baptist Church by the Rev. Walter Jones, pastor, and the Rev. Danny Miles, pastor of Friendly Lane Baptist Church.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before to the service. Burial will be in Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of a son, Mr. Harold Lawrence, 1656 N.C. 87 North, Elon College.
