Noah  Edward "Ed" Pratt 


    BROWNS SUMMIT — Noah  Edward "Ed" Pratt , 81, of Turner Smith Road, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Duke University Medical Center after a brief illness. Born May 18, 1925 at Hindman, Kentucky, he was the son of the late O.W. Pratt  and Bonnie Amburgey Pratt .
    He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; Truby Pratt , Sherril Pratt , Morris Pratt , and Jean Pratt  Gregory.
    He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 of years of service including as a tail gunner on a B-24 during the war and later as a mechanic. He served during World War II, and the Korean War. He received several medals, including Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was a Christian man and member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church in Gibsonville.
    He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Cobb Pratt ; a son, "E.J" Edward Pratt ; a sister, Jewel Pratt  Jones of West Alexandria, Ohio.
    The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church with the Rev. C. Allen Myers III officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
