November 12, 1954 - July 15, 2023
Jerry Michael Beasley, 68, gave up his earthly home for his heavenly home on Saturday, July 15, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Palm Street Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Don Clement officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Jerry was born in Greensboro, NC and attended Aycock Middle School and Page High School. Growing up he spent his summers working on the family tobacco farm. Jerry was employed by C.E. Smith Company, Inc. for over 50 years. He was a punch press operator for many years, section supervisor, and most recently served as Plant Manager. Anybody that knew Jerry could attest to how dedicated he was to his job, the company, and his work family. Jerry also owned and operated Beasley Lawn Service for 35 years. He had an eye for landscaping details and a work ethic that was top notch. Through the years he also enjoyed playing softball and golf, annual fishing trips to the coast, gardening, bee keeping, wood working, owning and riding horses. Jerry was a faithful member of Palm Street Christian Church where he served as Chairman of the Trustees and Chief Usher for many years. But most of all, he was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He fiercely loved, protected and provided for his family. Jerry was a kind, quiet man of strength and was thankful to God for the many blessings of his life. There aren't enough words to describe how special he was to his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Teresa T. Beasley; children Michael Beasley (Heather) of Willow Springs, NC, Laura Beasley of Browns Summit, NC; grandchildren Madalyn and Tade Beasley, granddog Lucy Beasley; sister Jennie Schroeder of Thomasville, NC; brother Clarence Beasley (Judy) of Greensboro, NC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lola Beasley.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Avva at Guilford Medical Associates, the staff at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, and Beacon Place Hospice for their care of Jerry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palm Street Christian Church, 1921 Palm Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.
