Obituary Online notes for Dover Moss SHOFFNER
Mr. Dover Moss Shoffner, 92, of Snow Camp passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 6:19 p.m.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Clemitene Justice Shoffner, who survives and the son of Daniel Moody Shoffner and Blanche Isley Shoffner, both deceased. Dover was a retired textile mill supervisor and had many hobbies. He was a life-long hunting enthusiast. He genuinely enjoyed the serenade of baying hunting dogs and could tell the most exciting (true or mostly tall) tales of hunting adventures which will be a memory engrained for his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and maintaining a garden which produced beautiful German Johnson tomatoes that he would share with friends and family. Dover's number one passion was sharing the gospel. As a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, he was always quoting his favorite scriptures and talking about Jesus. In his last few years on this earth, he would tell anyone and everyone that he was ready to go to his heavenly home. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now where he longed to be.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two sons, Jerry Shoffner (Hope) of Snow Camp and Fred Shoffner (Debbie) of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Janice Shoffner of Snow Camp; sister, Donnie Johnson of Burlington; grandchildren, Jamie Smith (Dale), Jessica Fields (Clint), Justin Shoffner (Jackie), Lori Smith (Ryan), Jeremy Shoffner, Wendy Ely (Scott), Traci Goodman (Bryan), and Brice Shoffner; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Gracie, Payton, Madilyn, Riley, Ally, Finn, Cooper, Ava, Elle, Audrey, Alexander, Gavin, Lily, and Graeme. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Shoffner.

The funeral service will be conducted at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Andy Clapp with the family receiving friends beginning at 1:30 prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Other times the family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3572 West Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
