Bobby Eugene Shoffner SNOW CAMP — Mr. Bobby Eugene Shoffner, 66, of 4736 Spanish Oak Hill Road, Snow Camp, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, at his residence following a 15-month battle with kidney cancer.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Janice Wagoner Shoffner, who survives, and son of Dover M. Shoffner and Clemitene Justice Shoffner, both surviving. Bobby was Assistant Manager of Quality Equipment (formerly Byrd Tractor), a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a member of Sourwood Forest Golf Course. In addition to being an avid family man, Bobby enjoyed his time spent on the golf course, primarily Sourwood Forest, hunting, supporting SAHS Athletics and assisting area farmers.
Surviving, other than his wife of the home and his parents of Snow Camp, are three daughters, Jamie Smith and husband Dale of Snow Camp, Lori Smith and husband Ryan of Graham, and Wendy Caldwell and husband Roy of Winterville, NC; six grandchildren, Emma Smith, Finn and Elle Smith, and Ally, Ava and Audrey Caldwell; two brothers, Jerry Shoffner and wife Hope of Snow Camp, and Fred Shoffner and wife Debbie of Liberty; five nephews and three nieces.
Bobby was preceded in death by a nephew, Mark Wagoner.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 6, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Ireson and the Rev. Lee Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday evening and other times at the residence.
The family wishes to thank the friends, family and community for their outpouring of love and support at the June 27th Golf Tournament and the July 18th Benefit.
