Dr. Jerry Lee Hopping, Jr., 86, of Southern Pines, NC, died April 21, 2005.
He was born in Atlanta to Dr. Jerry Lee Hopping and Ruth Coker.
He attended Druid Hill High School and graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in the Atlanta area until he retired in 1972. He was a member of The American Veterinary Medical Association, The American Small Animal Hospital Association, The Yaarab Shrine Temple, and a past member of the Roswell United Methodist Church. He moved to Southern Pines, NC in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie; a sister, Barbara Miller of Marble Hills, GA; a daughter, Linda McVicker of Southern Pines, NC; a son, Jerry Hopping of Winston Salem, NC; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 10:30 AM at the Roswell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James A. Budd, officiating.
A private interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park.
