Mazle (Duggin) Campbell was born on May 3, 1924 in Cannon County, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of Charlie "Houston" Duggin (1894–1980) and Gertie Effie (Davenport) Duggin (1904–1991).
She was a graduate of Woodbury High School and worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Kingman, Arizona's Army Air Field during World War II. She later received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from Middle Tennessee State College. Her 35-year teaching career began in Dalton, Georgia, after which she taught first grade at Southside Elementary in Shelbyville for 28 years. She was a member of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church and taught the kindergarten Sunday School class for many years.
Mazle was married about 1963 to Sam Dudley Campbell Sr ( -2012).
Living in the Wheel Community of Shelbyville, she was 92 years old when she passed away on April 1, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters Maude Macon (Duggin) Somerville (1922-2001) and Miriam Nancy Duggin (1935-2016) and by her brothers Sammie Carson "Sam" Duggin (1921-2005), Thomas "Earl" Duggin (1926-2013) and James Guy Duggin (1928-2011). Survivors included a sister; two married stepsons; a granddaughter, grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held at Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury.
