HUNTINGTON — Athena B. Whitesell, 92, formerly of Andrews, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Norwood Nursing Center.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1911, in Huntington County, to Harry E. and Emma C. (Snowden) Folk. She married Cecil Whitesell on June 30, 1930, in Columbia City. He died in 1989.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Andrews Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert D. Whitesell, Lagro, and Marion J. Whitesell, Huntington; three sisters, Wanda McClain, Fort Wayne, Loretta Spath, Bippus, and Loanatafay Purcell, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Curtis Folk, Delmar Folk, Benjamin Folk and Wilford Folk, and two sisters, Villistine and Vurljean, are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington.
Interment will be at the Union Cemetery, Huntington County.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
