Robert "Bob" Dean Whitesel, 80, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11:54 a.m. at Wabash County Hospital in Wabash. He was born May 3, 1927 in Wabash to Herman and Helen (Johnson) Whitesel.
He married Ruth Annah Wright on December 31, 1946 in North Manchester, Indiana; she died December 13, 1991.
A 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, Mr. Whitesel was a lifelong farmer. He was a lifetime member and life elder of Peoria Church, a member of Wabash County Farm Bureau, and past Chairman of the Board for North Central Co-Op. Bob served on the Wabash County Council eight years, was President of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Board, and a lifetime resident of Wabash County.
He is survived by his son, Joe (Karen) Whitesel of Converse; his daughter, Margaret Whitesel of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Miller of Wabash, Matt (Beth) Whitesel of Wabash, Samara (Matt Rassi) Mindel of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jesse Mindel of Indianapolis; five great grandchildren, Jackson and Max Miller and Riley, Tyler, and Carley Whitesel, all of Wabash; and his sister, Mary Louise Bright of Somerset.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 10:00AM with Brian Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wabash County. Friends may call 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is to Peoria Church. 470, Robert D. Whitesel
