Obituary Online notes for Everett Leroy PARKS
Everett Leroy Parks, 81, Lapel, passed away at his daughter's residence following an extended illness.

He was born July 11, 1927, in Union City, Ohio, the son of James and Elsie (Whitesel) Parks.

Everett was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1987 from Delco Remy after 37 years of employment.

He was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church. He was an active baseball player and college basketball player and coached Little League baseball in Lapel as well as high school tennis.

He is survived by three children, Donna Kay (husband, Richard) Clouse of Lapel, Philip (wife, Carmie) Parks of Campton, Ky., and Gary (wife, Janice) Parks of Rushville; one brother, Charles Parks of Florida; four grandchildren, Matthew (wife, Sandra) Clouse of Lapel, Andrea (husband, Eric) Jakubiak of Chicago, Cory Parks of Rushville, and Vincent (wife, Jennifer) Parks of Lexington, Ky.; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna Clouse, and Tia and Alex Benefiel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Ann (Howell) Parks; five sisters, Nila Shields, Irene Spiggle, Garnet Carmack, Dorothy Mendenhall and Ina Burleson; and four brothers, Wayne Parks, Leonard Parks, Hubert Parks and Ralph Parks.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with the Rev. Harold Scott officiating.
