Obituary Online notes for “Margie” Marjorie Alice GARDNER
Marjorie Alice Whitesel, 93, died of natural causes, on October 30, 2024, at the home of her eldest daughter in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was born February 23, 1931, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Harry Carlaw Gardner and Wilma Ethelyn Gardner. Marjorie graduated from high school in Camrose, Alberta, and she attended Gardner Bible College. Marjorie's father, Rev. H.C. Gardner, was the founder and president of Gardner Bible College and he was a pioneer minister of the Church of God in Western Canada. Marjorie met her husband, Floyd Marvin Whitesel, at Gardner Bible College. Marjorie and Floyd married in Camrose August 9, 1950, and they were married for 70 years. Marjorie was at Floyd's side as they pastored for 50 years at several Churches of God in Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Kansas, and Indiana. In retirement, they owned an InstyPrint in Indianapolis and Floyd was an interim pastor. Floyd predeceased Marjorie in death in 2020.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister: Lois Itterman, and brother: Robert Gardner. Surviving Marjorie are her 3 children. Daughter, Jacquilyn L. (husband Robert) Monclova with their 2 children: Rebecca and Nicolas and granddaughter, Harlow, all of New Mexico. Daughter, Michelle (husband Dale) Seelbach, with their 2 children: Eric (wife Katie) and Marc (wife Heather), and 4 grandchildren: Simone, Avery, Felicity, and Rhys, all of Colorado. Son,
Thomas (wife Denise) Whitesel of Indiana, and their 2 children: Matthew Whitesel (wife Nicole) and Erin Perkins (husband Kenneth), and 3 grandchildren: Thomas, Kara, and Madelyn, all of Indiana.
Marjorie is survived by 2 sisters: Lorna Petersen of North Carolina and Rhoda Roy of British Columbia, Canada. She is survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Marjorie was cremated in New Mexico and her remains will be buried in Indiana. A memorial service time and place will be as determined by family.
