ODESSA Merl Dean Conklin, 67, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, at his home in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013, from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Gayle Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Merl was born in Winchester, Indiana on February 8, 1946 to Donald and Margaret Conklin. He married Jacqueline Roye York on October 29, 1966 in Winchester. They made Odessa their home in 1975. Merl worked as a truck driver most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his son, Rick Conklin; his father and mother, Donald Conklin and Margaret Conklin; and his wife, Jackie Conklin.

Survivors include his son, David Allen Conklin; two brothers, Delbert Conklin of Indianapolis, IN and Max Conklin of Odessa, TX; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
