ODESSA - Jacqueline "Jackie" Raye Conklin, 58, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born Jan. 25, 1951, in Fayette County, Ind.
Jackie, my beloved wife since Oct. 29, 1966, of 43 years and the beloved mother of our two sons, and the beloved sister who was more like a mom to us brothers, has departed. We miss her already, but we know God's word says to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Conklin; parents, David York and Barbara; and brother, Donnie Horning.
Survivors include her husband, Merl Conklin of Odessa; her son, David Conklin of Memphis, Tenn.; her grandson, Heath Conklin of Goose Creek, S.C.; three brothers, Danny York of Dublin, Ind., Roger Hall of Odessa and Charles Tharp of Dublin, Ind; four grandchildren by her son Ricky, his son, Skyler and daughter, Kelcei Conklin, and sons Devin and Donivan Conklin.
Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Renee Phillips and Gayle Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
