Priscilla “Deanie” Barbee Long, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was born in Alamance County to the late James William “Bill” Barbee and Kathleen McIntyre Barbee.
Deanie retired after many years of service with Glen Raven Mills. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitsett. Deanie was an avid UNC Tarheel basketball fan. She enjoyed Christian Television on the TCT network, gospel music by the Gaithers and doing word searches. She devoted herself to her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Long Ingle and husband, Dan of Burlington, Mary Long Denham and husband, Randy of Elon and Amy Long Thompson of Burlington; son, Joseph “Joe” Long and wife, Beth of Archdale; grandchildren, Candy Ingle Reich, Mandy Ingle (Dee) Mitchell, Justin Michael (Sarah) Murray, Randy Butch (Sasha) Denham, Chelsie Long (BJ) Thomas, Reginald Long, Alex Long, Sarah Long (Chris) Alberti and Natalie (Thomas) Cross; great grandchildren, Addison Reich, Connor Reich, Corbin Mitchell, Cooper Mitchell, Beckham Michael Murray, Britt Walker Murray, Anniyston Marie Oliver, Mia Lynn Denham, Madison Lee Denham, Jamarion Thomas, Jaxon Thomas, Amiya Long, Kane Long, Adeline Dean Alberti and Scarlet Ragan Cross; special nephew, Roger Barbee and other nieces and nephews and a special friend, LuAnn Leigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby Gene Barbee and a sister, Hilda Gray Barbee.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tim Stevens. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Mary Denham.
