Mrs. Evelyn Kernodle Pratt, 84, of 1208 New Garden Road, went to walk with God, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 12, 2002, at Kallam Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs Pratt was a resident of Guilford County, though she had lived for many years in Wilmington, N.C., where she was a member of the Garden Club, and was an artist and a homemaker. She was a graduate of UNC-G (formerly Womens' College), was commissioned by the Governor of North Carolina to served on the North Carolina Society for Preservation of Trees, and was a member of Kallam Grove Christian Church. She was active in the Pratt's numerous family businesses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alexander Pratt Sr.; parents, Dr. John Franklin Kernodle and Cassie Summers Kernodle; a brother, John Franklin Kernodle; a premature child; two sisters, Margaret Dechard and Frances Blunk, and one beloved nephew, Johnny Kernodle.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Alexander Pratt Jr. and wife Dee, of San Diego, Calif., Franklin Lock Pratt and wife Susie, of Easley, and Michael Kernodle Pratt and wife Vicky, of Brevard, N.C.; two daughters Penny Barnham and husband Clay, of Reidsville, and Carol Dail and Husband Graham, of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Billy Ricketts and husband Leslie, of Greensboro; a sister-in-law, Della Mae Kernodle; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the fellowship hall; and all other times at the homes of Penny Barham, 324 Barham Road, Reidsville, N.C. and Carol Dail, 4504 Whitby Place, Greensboro, N.C.
